Resident and business parking permits
From 2 October 2023, new and renewal resident, visitor and business permits will be virtual and purchased online in our MiPermit portal. Read our parking questions and answers for more information.
During hours of operation, parking is permitted only in designated parking bays, by using an active virtual permit (if renewing after 2 October 2023) or by displaying a valid paper permit.
Permits must only be used in the vehicle for which they were issued. You should contact Parking Services for a temporary change of vehicle.
Motorcycles may park in any permit, pay and display or shared use bay free of charge with no time restriction.
New developments
New developments are excluded from resident permit schemes because the requirement for parking is considered through the planning process. However, we may be able to offer a Resident Permit to people living in new developments if there is sufficient space available in nearby roads. Renewal is not guaranteed upon expiry.
