There are three chances next week to get help and advice about keeping you and your family healthy by maintaining a healthy home through the winter.

The sessions will all be conducted from the ºÚÁÏÍøÕ¾ Wellbeing mobile unit at:

  • Monday 11 September – Furnace Green Parade 10am to 2pm
  • Thursday 14 September – Queens Square 10am to 3pm
  • Friday 15 September – Langley Green Parade 10am to 2pm

This coincides with national Gas Safety Week. Our contractor, Liberty Gas will have some of its experts there. They will be able to give tenants advice making sure they get their annual gas safety checks carried out, as well as general gas safety advice for all.

The council’s housing team surveyors will also be at the sessions to talk about preventing damp and mould, while the ºÚÁÏÍøÕ¾ Wellbeing team will be advising on general health and wellbeing including good nutrition, smoking and alcohol, and low-level emotional wellbeing issues.

The mobile unit used by the ºÚÁÏÍøÕ¾ Wellbeing team has been a popular addition to our services – it has only been roving the borough for six months but already given advice to nearly 600 people during 30 sessions.

Liberty’s support of Gas Safety Week is an important aspect of the service they provide ºÚÁÏÍøÕ¾ Homes and our tenants, with their experts joining those from ºÚÁÏÍøÕ¾ Wellbeing at three sessions in the town next week to give free advice about keeping themselves and their homes safe.

Councillor Ian Irvine

Cabinet Member for Housing

ºÚÁÏÍøÕ¾ Borough Council
