ºÚÁÏÍøÕ¾ Borough Council has launched its Help Hub to support the most vulnerable people in our community during the coronavirus outbreak.
The hub, a single point of contact for people who need support at this extremely difficult time, started operating on Wednesday (25 March). Call 01293 438000 between 8.30am and 5pm if you need help. Alternatively, you can email covid-19.support@crawley.gov.uk or complete an eform available at crawley.gov.uk/coronavirus
Help Hub staff will identify the support or assistance needs being identified by our residents and match them with the help that is on offer from our own council teams and the wide range of voluntary and charitable activity in the town. They will also support our community pharmacies to directly deliver medical supplies where needed and call our most vulnerable residents to check on them.
The council is also setting up a distribution hub to coordinate the direct delivery of essential food and medical items to vulnerable and high risk residents.
The distribution hub will receive and manage food and other essential items from suppliers, action requests from the Help Hub team, pick and pack the appropriate items and distribute parcels directly to people in their homes.
A leaflet with details of how to contact the Help Hub has been delivered to every home in the borough. Residents are asked to keep this leaflet safe because they may need it in future.
A separate leaflet, for residents to fill in and deliver to a friend or neighbour who may need some help – maybe a friendly chat over the phone or picking up some shopping or medicine – has also been delivered door-to-door. Residents can download and print more of these at crawley.gov.uk/coronavirus
“To beat Covid-19 it is vital that we shield high risk vulnerable residents from contact with anyone who might have the virus. To do that we need to ensure that they have the supplies they need to self-isolate. This is far from impossible, but it will need your help to identify those who are vulnerable and to help get supplies to them.â€
