Tell us about changes
You need to tell us:
- if you are moving home
- if your contact details or circumstances change
- if you want to change your payment method to Direct Debit
- when someone dies
- your business is changing
Some changes can affect Council Tax and any benefits you receive, so it's important to let us know as soon as you can.
Moving home
We need to know if you are moving into, within or out of ºÚÁÏÍøÕ¾.
We use the information you provide to update your Council Tax account, your myºÚÁÏÍøÕ¾ account if you have one, and the accounts for any other services you have with us.
Change your name or phone number
You need to login to your myºÚÁÏÍøÕ¾ account to change your name or phone number.
If you are moving out of a council property you'll need to end your tenancy. Visit our Ending a council tenancy page for more information.
If you receive Housing Benefit or Council Tax reduction you also need to let us know about changes to your circumstances. Visit our Benefit change of circumstances page for more information.
Change your payment method to Direct Debit
You can change how you pay the following bills by setting up a Direct Debit:
- Council Tax
- Housing rent
- Garages
- Business Rates
Tell us if someone has died
If you didn't use the government's Tell Us Once service, you need to complete a death notification form.
You need to provide:
- the deceased's home address
- Council Tax details
- details of any services they received from us, including the greenBin service
Changes to business circumstances
Notify us as soon as you can if your business is relocating or changing its name as they can affect your Business Rates.
